DX10 Question(Related to games)

Ok, I know it's Vista only, so don't go posting about that.


But I do see a good difference with DX10 and I have a DX10 Capable card and I am thinking of going to Vista 64Bit(My new rig will have no problem with it, so don't worry about that, and I know about Vista's crap support too)

Ok so, my question is, DX10 Renders better, will it have higher requirements? I mean...would my FPS be better at DX9 at the same settings as if I had DX10 at the same settings or does DX10 make the requirements higher for a game, if it supports it?

I know that by forcing lower DX versions of games, FPS can improve?

Now if it works like previous DX's, I suppose it would take a toll on my FPS, but since I'd probably have the option to force DX9, like most common day games have, it wouldn't be an issue, right?

So should I squander my DX10 ability or let my card preform to it's fullest?

Now I read like 20 Articles on DX9 VS DX10, but guys, we all know, DX9 won't last forever, soon DX10 will be common place(2 years, maybe?)

I'm still interested to know if you guys think it's worth it go to VISTA(with all it's bullcrap, I don't want to almost, but it's been out awhile and I hear it is becoming stable)

Also, alot of games I am interested in are supporting DX10 and I must say, in Comparisons...some effects look worth the FPS drop..Heh
