I will refrain from commenting on "why" Crysis hasn't sold well this holiday season ( Every analyst on the planet got there first. ).

Guitar Hero has sold well ( Hey they're not my ears ) but it's not tied to the PC ( nor does it need to be. ).

The cool thing is you can play the Guitar Hero PC version without the guitar by using the keyboard. Pain in the neck, but it works....

That kind of defeats the purpose of playing it though, IMO

True, but makes for a great title to bring along on a laptop when you can't whip the ole guitar out on an airplane.

I was just amazed that guitar hero 3 has such high requirements.....I dont see a reason why it should.

I do have guitar hero 3 for the computer and I hold the keyboard just like I would a guitar hero guitar. I use the 1,2,3,4,5 keys in place of green, red, yellow, blue, and orange. insert to strum. Print screen to do star power and delete for the whammy bar.

You...are hilarious.

I just think that game is so funny...I posted this same thing as a comment in another guy's blog but...

Don't you think it'd be cooler, and you'd be more of a guitar hero if there were over 100 buttons, and you could use combinations of them to actually play the song?

Sorry to ruin the party. Those requirements are stupid, by the way.

Requirements are something I've never understood either. I kinda think maybe they just stick a bunch of computer components in a room with a chimpanzee and whatever pieces he picks up first, that's the specs they go with.

It's been this way for a long time though. I remember when my brother was still using my old 486 DX2/66 and wanted to see if we could find some sort of game that would still run on it. I figured there was SOMETHING out there, surely, that would still work. We passed over all of the obviously "cutting edge" titles but in a bargain bin we saw a program box that said "Scrabble" on it. I thought "Hey, that oughta be low requirements, right?" Ehhnt! Wrong! IIRC, it took like a 500 MHz processor!! All I could think was "How much processing power does it take to move a little bitty letter tile around on a game board??!!" Apparently more than I thought.

Ever noticed the requirements on all Microsoft games? It is freakin' criminal! Minimum requirements to them really means "This is what you need to run the game on lower than low settings and achieve a maximum of 10 frames-per-second." FSX is a prime example.

I think they should actually sit down and figure out a system for each (minimum and recommended spec) setup. One that runs the game, low settings at 30 FPS or over, and one that runs everything on high at 30 FPS. But noooooo, we can't take an extra 2 days to figure that out...might be too convenient and honest.
