I just played some Portal the other day...could not figure out how to open the first door!....Duh, just kidding. I am stuck on the third puzzle though but have not put any time into it yet. Is that all there is to this game...just a bunch of increasingly difficult puzzles using a gravity gun? I got bored with it and continued playing Half-Life 2, Episode One

Perhaps some others will get into the game and report back?

Edit: I tried it again and got past three...which was tough. The fourth puzzle was a little easier than three. AM on the fifth puzzle now. Clue:...you have to think backwards. What do you want as your end result?..and think in reverse.

Edit...got to puzzle nine. Stuck there. Fun game!

Ok...I just looked at YouTube and realized the gravity gun is supposed to pick up the cube....no wonder it is so hard! What if the gravity gun does not work?

It's a really neat game. I found it easy to get addicted to...

Looks like a rip-off of 3D Realms's portal technology that debuted in Prey.

Talking to guys I know David, they were like you. At first they thought it dumb, then got hooked and thought it was the best part of the pack. It was developed to follow on from a pre-existing game of a similar style from a while back, but I can't remember what that was.

Actually, there WAS indeed a similar game like this a while back being developed by a group of game designers. It did not make it I believe. Valve basically saw this and then just hired the entire team and change their original project into Portal.

The original had a medieval and magical theme not scientific like portal and the main char is a princess or some sort.

If you like online first person shooters, make sure you also get HL2 Deathmatch which is also free for both Nvidia and ATI card users.
