How to make gamepad controller work?
I'm new at this, so pardon me if this is a stupid question...
Just bought a new PC and got a Logitech Rumblepad 2 controller with it. First game I'm trying to play is Call of Duty 4. Went to control set-up and expected to find something about choosing to play with a controller...and didn't find anything there. Started playing around with the Logitech Profiler software and saw that I can manually associate the gamepad controls with various keystrokes or whatever else. Is that what I have to do make this gamepad work with games? For each game I want to play, do I have to set up a new gamepad profile and assign the gamepad controls to the keyboard controls? That sounds like more work than it should have to be. |

If a game doesn't natively support a gamepad, then yes, you'll have to assign keystrokes. You don't have to do it every time you play a game, just every time you want to play a new one with different controls. Oh, and in CoD4, nothing beats a mouse and keyboard

I agree, I dont know how you would effectively play some of these games with a gamepad.

Interesting that it doesn't support the Logitech natively. The game was released for consoles as well, so it wouldn't be terribly difficult to leave that support in. I played the game on the PS3 and it certainly wasn't easy for a mouse/keyboard shooter fan like myself.
