Video card suggestions

I am looking for a good video card that will make games like Everquest and Quake 3, plus upcoming 3D games, look really good but not break my budget. What is the best card under $150 for that purpose.
my current system is:
AMD T-bird 1.4GHz
Soyo K7V Dragon mobo
256 MB DDR Ram

Thanks in Advance

With your system I'd suggest you invest $40 more dollars so that you can get one of the new Geforce3 Titanium 200 cards. You can get Geforce2 cards for less than $150 but these cards cannot take full advantage of DX8. In fact, you can buy a Geforce2 GTS for about $110 but I think you might regret it once games that fully utilize DX8 come out but your high end system cannot 'see' the difference because you bought an older video card.

PS: Cognisant is spelled cognizant

Any card that has the phrase Geforce 3 in it is the only way to go.

I played Max Payne with a GTS card, looked great, yes, but with the new FX the GF3 pushes I am seeing small things that were not viewiable with the GTS, like smoke is fuller, when you shot things it just does not spark up, small amounts of, um, what could you call it, well, it just looks different and better in fact I see heaps of little spot FX that the other cards just cant do.

Not to mention Duke Nukem for Ever will have FX in the game that only the GF3 cards will show. However, the Titanium 200 cards are what you could call the MX versions of the GF3 , so it will not be as fast as the standard GF3, EG, Hercules, Morphious, Leadtech and so on, now Titanium 500, now thats the GF3 ultra, my god this card it hell fast.

So if I were you I would perhaps by pass the 200 and get the Titanium 500 or the GF3, Morphious, hercules, leadtech.
