The short trailer I saw didn't really give much away. As long as it looks gorgeous like the last one did and it doesn't feel like Crysis, I'll buy it.

Not that I don't like Crysis...but who wants two similar games with a different title?

I like the idea that you can burn Africa to the ground.

Same company that created Crysis and possibly same engine, I really cannot see how they are going to not colliding FC2 into Crysis.

I have not even play FC 1 yet; is it any good?

I heard Far Cry one was really good in its days (graphics) just like Crysis. But Far cry 2 isnt Crytex, Far cry 2 is from Ubisoft.

Crytek develops the engine for a game like that, but yes, Ubisoft will be the publisher. I doubt that Crytek wouldn't be involved...otherwise they'd have to change the name of the game.

Far Cry 1 is pretty sweet. After playing a game like CoD4 or Crysis, it feels dated (as in not natural enough with character movement and the use of shaders) but is still a gorgeous and fun game. The AI is still really smart, and when they have a wide open environment to play with, things get ugly real fast.

From what I have heard FC2 is going to add some more inventive game play. for instance when you get shot you better hide and bandage or run the risk of death. There will be no conventional health meter.

Heck, this is the first I've heard about FC2 coming out... The first one was a blast, so I'll most likely get the second one, two

Ive never played Far Cry 1 but I keep hearing it was a successful game. I've just recently seen the demo for Far Cry 2 and it looks really fun and interactive. If you haven't watched the demo highly recommend people to watch it to get an idea of what the game play will be like.

Wow. -1 respect unless this is some inside joke I'm missing out on.

The game does look incredible though. Very open (and huge) environments, unique and creative gameplay (like pulling bullets out of your thigh, torching fields to strategically hold your enemies off etc), gorgeous looking graphics...I personally can't wait

Hopefully he is just excited to burn anything down to the ground. I would be too. I don't however care if it is Africa, Canada, Russia, or especially the French region of Belgium where I live, it would do wonders for the trash and polution.

Far Cry, was made by Crytek, Far Cry 2, is being made by Ubisoft themselves. Crytek is not being involved in Far Cry 2, thus the CryEngine (what was being used on Far Cry) will not be used. Instead they've created their own engine. So you can't blame them if it end's up like Crysis.

I stand corrected. I am amazed that Crytek let them get away with that. I just saw the gameplay demo...looks pretty darn nice. I'll probably not use the flamethrower a ton on guys though...it gets to a point where it is sick because your enemies are so human.

Well, there's not a lot Crytek can do, Ubisoft hold the license to the Far Cry name, just like the publisher held the name to Operation Flashpoint, making the developer unable to produce a sequel.

In their demo trailer they said it was a custom engine
