You can play it, but your video card is a serious bottleneck. Everything would need to be on low, but it should still be playable.

If you are interested in gaming though, I'd look into an upgrade soon.

I'm planning on getting a EVGA 8800gt. Is the rest of my system a bottleneck? Right now I'm just playing Flight Sim. 2004, its pretty easy on the graphics card.

CPU and RAM look fine. The 8400GS is really a budget card from Nvidia. The 8800 will be a huge step up.

the new series nvidia cards should be out soon..... if so you could probably pick up an 8800gt or gts512 pretty cheap soonish...... i personaly tried crysis on a 8400 and i wouldnt recomend it to anyone lol...... you have to have the settings so low that you really cant even tell the diff between dx9 and dx10..... it play's hl2 pretty well but crysis is beyond out of its league.... infact the onboard graffics on my gigabyte GA-MA69G-S3H board ran crysis almost as well as my 8400. i got an avg of maybe 15fps when i was standing still

Ok, I'll be getting a 8800gt instead of a 22" wide screen monitor. How long should I wait until the prices come down?

You would play it on low settings. My old PC has a similar setup and I played the demo on low. Get a new gfx card and you should be good...

8400GS isn't going to do Crysis anyway.

Better off with at least a 3850/3870, or a 8800GT.

Nice. Supposedly, the 9800gx2 is coming out mid march as well. I read March 14 for 449 USD. Sounds like a steal to me.

I would not buy Crysis unless you have an 8800GT or better. I tried it with that and it is barely playable. It was rare to see framerates over 30.

I read the 9800GX2 was going to go for $600-$700.
