Video Options

When playing a pc game and your able to adjust everything I see Antialiasing mode and filtering mode im not quite sure what to do... turn it on? is higher better or turn it off.. i have no idea what it means

Anti-aliasing rounds out the rough pixels and makes everything appear smoother. If you want better visuals in the PC game, turn it on although it might lower your frames per second.

It depends on your hardware and the game.

As a rule I set the defaults in the graphics cards control panel, so it doesn't apply AA or AF indiscriminately to everything, and then see how the game runs.
That means I use the games own settings and I may have AA high in one game and not use it at all in another.
If you've got a monitor with a resolution of 1600 x 1200 or above you might need little AA and run the AF up but the only way to know for sure is to start experimenting.
