It's been a long time since I've had a spare moment to play around with a game. I picked up Company of Heroes Gold Edition with a gift card the other day and have been exploring it a bit. Seems really cool, in the mold of one of my favorites - Starcraft.
Anyone else playing this game? How is playing online? Cheers,

I've been playing Company of Heroes for a while now, it's been really fun, a lot more action than in most RTS games (although some people called this a RTT: Real Time Tactical Game). Playing online is fun, but most players are really good at the game and the way THQ handles the updates/online matchmaking is really bad. My copy of Company of Heroes: Opposing Fronts stopped working due to a bad patch update (which my game wouldn't work without), so I gave it away to a friend since even uninstalling and installing the game wouldn't work. I'm planning on getting the game again through steam since I know they have a much better system of dealing with online play and updates.

I did have problems with the patches not coming through, but manually downloading and installing them worked out.

COH Opposing Fronts came with my new Asus GPU, but I haven't started it yet. I've never been big on strategy games. Which do you prefer, this one or Supreme Commander?

RTS games are among my favorite, I think company of heroes has a lot more action than Supreme Commander and doesn't take that long to get started (resource gathering in company of heroes is related to how well you are doing in terms of military). I've been playing Supreme Commander for a while now, but I'd rather play something like Company of Heroes (for a shorter game) or Sins of a Solar Empire (for a longer game).
