Spore Creature Creator Problems...
I've downloaded Spore Creature Creator (free trial) just to mess around with, had to go through a ridiculous amount of trouble because of DirectX crap, now it works... sort of...
I launch the Creator, it gets to the EA screen, then flashes Maxis (I think thats the name) then it just closes and goes back to my desktop and occasionally changes my desktop background from my daughter to a pale grey solid background. Any thoughts? I'm running XP with full downloads. Thanks in advance!!! ~Vinny |

It sounds like you don't meet the hardware requirements or are missing .NET but until you give us your specs we're only guessing.

chances are I don't meet the specs actually. I didn't look at that figuring if I can run world of warcraft with zero problems how could this not be supported, however I haven't upgrading my pc in some time so the specs are older that what it needs most likely.

The specs for the editor are actually quite low. It seems to run on pretty much anything (Just check that DirectX is installed and .NET 2.0 is installed).
Are the video card drivers up to date? The only issues I've noticed is loud, annoying buzzing audio in some sections when manipulating the menus.
