UDP / TCP ports for gaming thru Network...

hey people!

I need help: I need to know whatTCP / UDP port settings i need to set in my router so it can by-pass the NAT firewall. I'm putting this in Hardware too, cause those guys might know. They are specifically games. Now, is there an all-purpose Port or anything that i can set? If not, is there a list i can look at? I saw one, but it had older games; nothing i was looking for.

Right now, i wanted to find Operation Flashpoint, Rainbow 6, Rainbow 6 rogue spear, and Ghost Recon (isnt out yet, but i'm sure there are beta testers or whatever out there)
Thanx guys!

For playing, you rarely need to open any.

For hosting, there's a list at www.practicallynetworked.com

wow, thanx...that sites great!

But, is there a way to open, like...all the ports? I could just stick a firewall on each individual machine and that way i won't worry about it

If your router has a DMZ you could put one machine in it, yes.

Defeats the whole purpose of having the router to begin with, though .

I tried setting it as DMZ host...it didn't seem to work. Others on teh network could see my machine hosted as "internet," not just LAN game. But, people outside the network couldn't. Maybe its becuse i set it as DMZ host from a wireless access point? should i set it on the hardwired machine, and then re-boot the router and access point?

Try it and see, not sure if that makes a difference.

I've honestly never used wireless routers .
