cant download patches for Frontlines:fuel of war

the game downloaded, it said it needed the patches to operate
, it directed me to a download page http://www.kaosstudios.com/ffow-patches/

it started downloading and stopped, a message came up that said, 'windows has stopped working. i shut down all programs.. automatic updates..everything

i also couldn't download Quake 4

i have 2 500 Gig hard drives

ANTEC 900 Case.
ASUS Rampage Formula X48.
Intel Xeon 3110 3MHz Core2 Duo.
VISTA 64bit Home Premium.
Silent Knight2 CPU cooler.
8GB OCZ Reaper HPC DDR2 1400.
2x Western Digital Caviar 500GB HD RAID1.
VisionTec Radeon HD 3870 1 Gb.
Cosair 750 watt PSU
OPTI UPS Battery Back Up.

can i use 1 HD with Firefox , etc for Games and a partision for Backup for the VISTA 64 HD, to play games on, with a dual boot.. or something like that.. maybe an XP 64 bit

any sugestions

Did you try any of the other download locations and did you check Event Viewer to find out what the problem with Windows might have been ( Also, what security software are you running?) ?

one strange thing was the download box... it said-- 'download time.. 1sec for 271 MB'

THAT SEEMS VERY STRANGE 1second for 271 mb's i have road runner..but that is way fast

Hey.. I FIXED IT.!! patches downloading right now

I downloaded .NET Framework to 4.5, i opened up all the router ports.. managers...

the learning curve is still pretty steep.. i should have taken notes, i don't remember much of what i did.. and it is why VISTA 64 is i problem for people.. just settings

So you needed the latest .NET for Vista 64 and had to redo your router settings ?

i don't know.. i was going to ask about .NET, i changed a lot of things in
'PROGRAM FEATURESn/off'

you click on START then CONTROL PANEL then to the LEFT in the blue boarder is TASKS at the bottom next to the shield is PROGRAM FEATURES-on/off

i guess it allowed the Router to function and download the Patches, but the game wouldn't load-message about the disk... people with Vista64 have this problem, and some don't... which leads me to believe it is SETTINGS and updates, i don't know much about .NET other it has been a pain in the ass before on XP for me

I'm think'n about a Dual Boot on my second HD with XP64 for games.. will get back after i do some more Tweek'n

i think there should be a SEPARATE Forum Subject Category under VISTA entitled
