Hi han,
Our resident video guru is currently unavailable (get well soon, audioyoda!), but I'll take a shot at this. I may be mistaken, but I think capturing video places an enormous burden on the CPU and other system components. Your system specs, while good 5 years ago, may not be up to what your are asking of it. You might be able to improve things by adding more RAM (to at least 64 megs, more would be better), a faster hard drive, a better video capture card...but I really don't think you'll get the result you are looking for. Depending on your motherboard, you might be able to upgrade your CPU, but I really don't know how much faster you could go...maybe up to 233MHz. The fastest Socket 7 CPU I know of is the 550MHz AMD K6-3, but I'm not sure if your board would support it (probably not). Is buying (or building) a new system with at least a 800MHz (faster would be better) CPU an option for you? If not, would you consider upgrading the motherboard and CPU (and possibly the power supply) for around $200 or so? Cricket
