Good game for netbook?
I'm an on-call engineer and sometimes have to sit in my vehicle waiting for the next call. I have a netbook PC which I'd like to use to play games whlist waiting.
I've never been a huge games player so I don't have any particular genre but can anyone recommend any addictive games which will run happily on an Acer Aspire One netbook? A colleague uses a Nintendo DS but I don't want one of those. TIA.

Good question. I would start looking at older games that are not as graphics intensive. Games five years old or more, or strategy games.
Most games come with some sort of very optimistic and then more realistic specs for what types of computers they will run on. Your graphics processor will determine what games you can and which you cannot run for most games that you look at. Your processor will be your bottle neck. There are tons of good games out there that don't need heavy graphics processing. How about some old Sim City games?...or Myst? There are card games, chess etc as well.

I have Unreal Tournament 1 on my EeePC (Celeron M 900MHz), and it runs fine on max settings at teh screen native res. I've gotten ok using the trackpad but a mouse is handy. I also had Age of Empries 1 and 2 run fine. On top of these there are countless arcade style games out there on the internet, just make sure theyre from a legit source first.

Agreed, the pirated games can come with all kinds of nasties....I would not touch them.
