pathetic score in 3Dmark
I just ran 2 benchmarks in 3Dmark2001, and got miserable results both times. 602 and584. One was with the original drivers, one was with the newest detonator from Nvidia. What's worse, I got a lower score with the Detonator driver! Now check this out...I ran this benchmark last year, ant got 1645.
Here are the comparison URLs for my scores. Last year's score First test Second test My system specs are 750Mhz Athlon Slot A ( )256 MB RAM PC100 Nvidia Vanta 16 MB Brand new install of Win98 SE. Reformatted within last 2 weeks Any ideas on what could cause the difference? I'm not very concerened, since I'll be getting my new MB/CPU within a few days...just curious

It is quite likely that your drop from last year is due to the differences in 3DMark2000 and 3DMark2001, the 2001 version works the system much harder.

Well...that does make sense. A lot has happened in the last year in graphics, and I guess an old 16 MB card just can't keep up
![]() I was down right depressed in the framerate, especially on the lower detal test..I think I maxed at 15 FPS ![]() But, my next upgrade will be a video card. Right now I'm thinkin ATI Radeon 7200. 64MB DDR, and I've seen lots of reviews saying that it is an awesome card, and for less than $200 it's a pretty good deal. |
