Diablo II

I bought diablo 2 a couple days ago. I installed it, got the new direct X, and tryed it out. When it first opened, it just stayed at a black screen. I called up Blizzard to ask what was wrong, and the tech support couldnt help. They think it is a direct x. i got the new nVidia drivers and diablo 2 patches. Please help! i wanna try out some games on my new computer

What card do you have? When the game started up for the first time did it run a video test for you and choose DirectX?

If that video mode results in your black screen find the video test somewhere in the game folder and run it again, this time choosing DirectDraw and see if that works.

i have an Inno3D Geforce2 MX400. i ran the video test, chose direct draw and direct 3d. both did not work
we tryed reinstalling direct x 8.0. that did not work. im downloading DX 8.1 to see if there was a problem with the other direct x

I run D2 on a mx400 card, works fine, I would probably suggest uninstalling then reinstalling the game.
