nvidia vanta
am using the vanta 16 When i lpay half life the game locks up and the sound repeats itself like a stuck record, its very intrmitent,could do it 4 times in a row then i have to reboot, is it the card or some thing else, that is the Qestion, is this card capable of playing this game propery or not

Regarding your question of wheather this card will work with Half-Life or not: It should work, but you won't be getting good framerates. The Vanta is nVidia's super-budget card targeted for basic 2D apps. A GF2MX or even TNT2 would work better.

A friend of mine purchased a Vanta some time ago, and soon replaced it 'cause he was getting low frame rates in games.
I once sold a Vanta to one of my customers and have it returned for the same reason, plus other problems, like systems lock-ups. I then sold it to another customer who is not a gamer, but the guy returned it to me when he purchased a Creative WebCam Go! He never told me why, only that he had run into some "problems". I agree with DrZaius, you better get a TNT2, or a GF... or any other thing that's not a Vanta.
