I need a new game

Does anyone know of any good RPGs or FPS's that I could download or buy? I'm so bored, I'll take a look at any game.

How about "something completely different"?
Buried in Valve's Steam game store is "Indigo Blue", an adventure game that isn't like any other.
If you like RPGs and FPSs then this $10 gem has your name on it.

I looked at their website, the trailer and some pictures, it looks a little like GTA. What's it about exactly??

You start out getting framed for murder and then it all gets worse.
You will be very busy ( Like think!) but the puzzles are sane.

What about bringing back out the old 'free' Enemy Territory FPS. I still need to reinstall that on my PC.

What games have you been currently playing so I don't repeat something?

Right now I'm playing or have played:
Crysis (all of them)
The Witcher
Fallout 3
Killing Floor
Combat Arms
Chronicles of Spellborn
Americas Army 3

Good FPSs that are free are hard to come by. Something like left 4 dead or crysis would be good but probably not likely to find.

Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare is a great game with a top notch single player campaign and addicting multiplayer.

Oblivion or Fallout 3? Both fun, both should run great on your rig, and both should keep you entertained for days. You either like Oblivion or you don't though...it's kind of a personal taste sort of thing.

I preordered Aion yesterday, mostly to be able to get in on some of the beta testing. It looks promising.

Aion looks pretty cool. I bought Painkiller Triple Dose and Unreal Tournament 3 yesterday. I'm pretty impressed with UT3 and very unhappy with Painkiller, it wasn't packaged with a CD key so I can't play online and the patches screwed everything up. I'm also looking at buying Blacksite: Area 51. Keep sending the comments and suggestions!

My advice is time travel. Check out Thief for the proverbial 'something completely different'. The first Thief, mind you.

I have to agree. I had a lot of fun with this game back in the day. The graphics won't be up-to-par with what you expect today, but the gameplay is still rock solid. It won't disappoint.

Have you looked through Steam's online catalog for ideas? Try sorting by metascore.

Have you looked at all the Half-Life games? There is a whole slew of them.

Some games not mentioned are Bioshock, Quake, Team Fortress, Splinter Cell, Portal (not a shooter but it makes you think), World of Goo (same thing), Mass Effect, World in Conflict, Max Payne, Far Cry, Counter Strike. I have played all of these but my favorite so far that has given me the most fun is Left 4 Dead. I really like to cooperation aspect of the game.

Saints Row 2 is on PC now. I'm trying to download that but with my slow internet here, it's taking forever. The new COD game is coming out in the fall as well. I'm going to get that when I get back if it's out yet. I have Quake 3 and Quake 4. Quake 3 IMO is better than Quake 4.

Well, I can't advise on any RPG games since I've only played one, but on the FPS front I have some that haven't been mentioned:

Team Fortress 2
Day of Defeat: Source
Unreal Tournament 99/2k3/2k4/III
Goldeneye Source
Smashball
Prenumbra (More of a thriller/stalker game than FPS, but it is fun)
Age of Chivalry (Medieval FPS, but highly entertaining to just melee people into bloody piles of goo)

If you want a RPG get World of Warcraft. Kinda expensive, 15 bucks a month, but its fun if your into those kinda games. Best RPG out there IMO.

For FPS games. Get into Counter Strike: Source, and once you get good enough you can play on teams and leagues. Thats when it gets fun but that also takes a lot of practice and dedication.

Call of Duty 4 is awesome, World at War was disappointing, but Call of Duty 6 which is a continuation of 4 looks owner. It comes out in November this year, can't wait.

I recently finished playing The Witcher:Enhanced Edition action-RPG. One word: awesome!.
I went in with low expectations, but it was easily the best game I've played since Fallout 3.
Seriously consider it if you want a fun and involving game.
Otherwise, Oblivion and Fallout 3 are like the gold standard (IMO!)for action RPGs.

If you don't mind a slightly older single player only FPS, then check out Star Wars : Republic Commando. A rather underrated squad based FPS (kinda similar to Mass Effect) but with solid gameplay; the whole game is a lot of fun.

Ofcourse, if you haven't played Mass Effect, it's time to do so now

Another older semi-RPG/FPS is Dark Messiah of Might and Magic. Not a great game, but decent enough to kill some time with it.

The new Call of Duty game comes out in a couple of months. I think anyway. I haven't checked but it should be out sometime around when I get back to the states.

a REALLY fun FPS that also has some RPG elements...Team Fortress 2 for the PC. The organge box for the 360 is good too, but I don't know how much of the updates that the PC version has have been implemented.
