Screen Shifts?

when i load unreal or half-life, the monitor's screen shifts about 3 inches to the left. So every time i play these games i have to manually use the buttons on my monitor and move the screen back to the right so i can see the "whole picture" of the screen. then when i am finished playing i have to move the screen back to the left so i can use any regular programs.

Any ides why it does this?

hi again, Colb_dog,

I have no real solution for you, but when I am in a 649X480 and 800X600 resolutions my monitor does this too. But in a 1024X768, it stops doing it. What rez are you using ? My only suggestion is that you try fiddling with the resolutions...

Hmm, it shifts when entering games and shifts back when finishing it. I assume that the games change resolution, so when you change the res it does it.

Well, usually when a resolution is first used you have to tune it till the picture is ok. From my experience the settings remain 'within the resolution' for that it's set.

Try changing the resolution of Windows and see if this happens as well. If the problem remains then I assume that the wrong monitor model is selected.
Go into device manager, then monitors and see what's there. It sould be either your monitor model or Plug&Play monitor.
