i'm playing with making cd's from my vhs tapes and and have a plexing question!!!!! What would be the best (aka most general) format to save files in when the main purpose is to send to other people who have a wide variety of computers and OS's. I try to save as mpeg and figure if it plays on my old P120 laptop it will play on anything...but that doesn't always work, they tell me...any suggestions...tips...any help or any suggestions are always welcome!

MPEG-1 (VCD) will be played by nearly every player.
MPEG-2 (SVCD) will only be played if a MPEG-2 plugin is installed, mostly done by DVD player softwares. RJ
