Frustration

Finally got a rig that can run some of the newer games being an rts fan I got command and conquer 3 Deluxe edition. Came with the Kanes Wrath expansion. Game won't run I did everything on the EA site about putting it in compatability mode tried it in several modes and keep getting an error talking about the direct x version, video card meeting specs and something about hardware accelerataion being enabled in display properties. Running Window Vista Ultimate and any suggestions you can give would be appreciated. I looked on EA's site and there was no patches for c&c 3 tiberium wars. There was one for Kanes Wrath but I haven't installed that yet. Also another nice thing about the EA site I cannot access the C&C forums something about I don't have enough privelages. See if you can run in 2D. Run dxdiag and uncheck 3D hardware. I've done this many times untill I could figure out where the issues are. It'll also help determine if your other specs are up to par.

In xp, click start/run then type 'dxdiag' in the box and click ok

on the display tab you'll have the option to disable 3D

I'm not sure how to get there in Vista. Maybe similiar.

Did not realize there was a update game on the cd, put the cd in patched the game that way. The site had no patches listed for the game the cd found them patched it and now it runs.
