Hi ryan7962,
well, it has been mentionned that XP has some problems in running windows 9x games. You can try to set the Windows 98 emulator on (I don't know how to do this though...). I have heard that XP doesn't like some windows 9x games... that's why I stick to win 98 SE hope that helps, pstj |

I run q3/team arena, Ghost recon, Deadly dozen, Return to wolfenstein all with no problems..... Try the games website......

It was a big deal that Max Payne was not officially supported by XP when it was released. So, that is probably why you have those troubles. Who knows why they did not write in XP support. Thank the short-sighted programmers.

Quite a few people had Max Payne crashing to the desktop with 98se and ME as well. You could try the latest patch or if the crashes are infrequent, just live with it.
I don't know about Asheron's call. |

Max Payne runs fine on XP for me, did you get the patch?

Quote from the December issue of PC GAMER:
"We're delighted to say it's stable, fast and compatible with almost every current title we tested. That list includes Red Faction, Half-Life (plus TFC, DMC, They Hunger, and Counter-Strike), Max Payne, Tribes 2, Black & White, Quake III: Arena, ....... Unfortunately, the outlook for legacy gaming ain't so rosy. We ran into serious problems with popular games of yesteryear, especially those that required EMS memory."

try running in compatibility mode.
I got deadly dozen running that way. Actually it ran fine without it, then all os a sudden one day it did not want to load my last completed mission, but I tried compat mode and it worked. Good luck |
