Tiger Woods 08

So, in the spirit of me being a long way behind, my Dad has been playing Tiger Woods 08 (unusually, no floozies on the course), and I'm really having trouble getting the shot to go the advertised length the club does. Any tips??

Otherwise, a pretty fun game, way too many options in the character customiser though

Your not Tiger Woods....that's the answer. You will never be able to hit a pitching wedge 140 yards and then do a drop and stop.

I have played the game and never got the driver to hit is as far as Tiger does. I think the developers did this just to frustrate us amateurs...and make Tiger look better. When using the driver, you don't necessarily want to pull all the way back. As in real golf, the harder you swing at the ball, the more likely you are not hit it square. When using irons, I just play with a longer club, like a 6 iron instead of a 7 iron, and get pretty much the same results. Like real golf, you record and go by what typical distances you get with each iron.

BTW...this video will make you laugh.

Did you notice he grounds the club in a water hazard? You also cant touch the water when your ball is in a water hazard. Two stroke penalty for each offense. Rule 13-4

Your dad will probably not want to see this but the 09 version has better graphics.

David M. are you talking about the PS3 '09 version that has better graphics? I had looked at one point for 09 on PC but they never did an '09 version did they?

By the way, have you guys ever played at wgt.com? Its pretty fun....different things you can do (including play matchplay for money). You can play totally free or you can spend money on equipment or elite tournaments. I'm close to the bay area David so if you get a chance to try it and like it enough to set up an account....send me a PM with your game name and we can play some evening. Of course that goes for anyone here....but its nice to have someone in your timezone....in case you play later in the evening like me.

Whoops!!! Sorry David....I just realized you are the one I asked about TW '09 a few months ago....and I mentioned wgt.com too. Didn't mean to repeat myself!

What are some of your favorite courses in the Bay Area?
