Smile Boaderlands preformance

When I play this game its kind of choppy. I thought my pc would run it smoothly.

Intel® Core2 Duo mobile processor P7450;
6GB PC2-6400 DDR2 memory;
500GB Serial ATA hard drive (5400 rpm)
Blu-ray Disc-enabled DVD±RW/CD-RW drive;
16.4" LCD widescreen displayATI Mobility Radeon HD 4650 graphics

Any suggestions?

Is there any way of improving the performance without turning down the settings?

well what graphics card do you have? (if any). Chances are if you don't have one, you won't be able to play much games due to it being the key factor in playing games.

At what resolution are you running the game?

Probably turning off dynamic shadows will improve the framerate a bit.

And, take a look at AA:

Sadly, this game was designed with nVidia cards in mind. ATi cards have issues with it, especially AA.

1600x900

Turning off dynamic shadows helped a little bit.

I googled the ATI problem and a lot of other people had the same problem. I guess I just have to deal with it.

Thanks!

been having hell of the time playing this game , i get around 60 fps
with 1680x1050 on high settings , suddenly the game would start
having flows and everything gose to the drain and frame rate gose
to 20 fps . i put settings on low with all off and 1600/900 res
but it made no difference . the only thing i changed in tweaks in
enabling vsync .. i have latest patches and vga drivers

I might try the version that reportedly worked:

I'm actually surprised there are issues with nvidia's software/hardware with borderlands

Consider running your graphics card fan at near 100%, make sure nothing is running in the background and then try turning down your in game graphics settings.

I bought Borderlands from Steam during their big holiday sale. Borderland's is running fine. Its running at 50-60 FPS with all the in game graphics settings turned up.

I still haven't got past the bad guy in the cave towards the beginning of the game. Apparently you have to get up to level five before you can defeat him?

Also, make sure your GPU and CPU heatsinks are blown out and therefore dust free. Make sure you are using the latest drivers for your graphics card.

Enemies have a skull symbol next to their health bar if they're too powerful for you to defeat at your current level.

Too bad in real life people don't have little indicators floating over their heads indicating their status.
