fqpissed Radeon 7200 + VIA chipset + XP = Blank screen

Hi,
is it just me, or smthg...

I try to set up video drivers for my Radeon 7200 in XP, and when i do that the screen just go black on me. And the only thing that is left is to restart the machine. I'm thinking the VIA chipset could be involved somehow...
But the default XP drivers work fine though.
Any ideas?

You probably need updated drivers for the card got to ATI.com
and download the latest XP drivers for the card.

It may be that XP doesn't just doesn't like the new drivers. Have a look at this post. Not the same problem but could point to an issue with XP.

Might be just as well staying with the XP drivers until the the situation of XP and newer drivers becomes clearer.

well, just thought i'd let you all know: my troubles are over - had to get the latest VIA agp drivers. Turns out there was an issue of 4xAGP/ 133Mhz bus working with XP(temporary workaround: disable 4x AGP in bios). Now it's all fine: and i'm back to the castle Wolfenstein!

Thanx everybody!
