-Wake up! Has this dream stopped? The snake was pale gold Glazed and shrunken
And she was beside me Ooh, she's not young Her dark red hair, her white soft skin
Now, run to the mirror in the bathroom, look She's coming in here I can't live through each slow century of her moving
The smooth hissing snakes of rain...

The largest install I've seen so far has been The Force Unleashed at 25GB. (btw, the game is a console port to the PC, and ported very poorly--don't bother with it)

Thumbs up

i pick my games at game spot . since 2004 i have been doing that .
since there is so many games and considering my old age (40 years old ) i dont
have the ability to play as much as i did in my younger age .

so i normally trust game spot and i never play a game that is rated under 8/10

if you are talking about this :

http://www.gamespot.com/pc/action/sw...lt%3Btitle%3B5

5/10 mediocre . i would never pay attention to it automatically .

atm i am playing total war napoleon and king bounty armored princess and dawn of war
chaos rising lol . all at the same time . i had to restart with armored princess after loosing
with the final boss lol that really took some time . i like to push single player games
to the limit and play on maximum difficulty . and am telling you these games aint
easy . on single player .

as for my frame rate i am playing those games on medium at 1920/1080
and having 70+ fps .

my birthday will be in April i might be upgrading my gpu around that time .
but am deleting my advice post until i am ready to buy .
i guess the 465gtx might be around 200$ by then . no?

Yep, that's the game. There was a sale on Steam a few weeks back. The game was available for $7, and since I've always been interested in FPS or 3rd-Person POV star wars games, I thought it *might* be worth the $7.

It really wasn't.

I was just thinking about Steam and its sometimes incredible sales as well. I try to see if a game has a demo before purchasing. Doing this has prevented me from buying a few turkeys.

Game ratings certainly can help but I have also discovered games that I really like that sometimes many others do not care for. Defense Grid is one of those games. Its a strategy game that really makes you think. Same thing with Sid Meiers Railroads and Railroad Tycoon 3.

Indeed...I haven't bought retail since 2003 and never looked back. Steam is very flexible in that they can turn on a dime have crazy sales (on a whim!). Retail stores...not so much.

That's probably part of the reason why steam has been wildly successful. Sales, no fuss, very flexible DRM (not counting the DRM provided by some 3rd-party game publishers)

As for reviews...I mainly look at zero punctuation (language warning!). If a game is really bad, it will get bashed appropriately.

How do you like Napoleon Total War?
I just finished playing Supreme Commander II and I had a blast playing it, I am not into downloading games, I am mostly into MMOs and I am currently waiting for the Old Republic to come out. I have not played on regular basis for over 2 years now since I pulled away from EQ2, sadly I have major motion sickness so first person shooters are out for me, I regret never being able to play Half-Life 2 as it made me very ill playing it from all the motion, I ended up giving it to one of my friends.

humm , not very familiar with the medical case you are describing . i may understand if you were in a boat or in a plain , but in games things are not really moving. . its just a visual thing . and it dose not come in contact with the senses or motions of your body . but i
may understand haw you feel because i am hyper sensitive and any movement
around me that may cause vibration to my head like using hammers or hearing big trucks
can send me in painful panic attacks . i am even taking benzodiazepine pills with doctor
prescription because there is lots of constructions noises in the area i live in . actually its not the noise it self
that effect me but as i said the impact or vibration to my head . i am always guessing
it has something to do with that balance area that exist in the mid ear . but not sure about that .

anyway i must say your missing the best part of the games these days which is the fps
specially with the role playing elements like bioshock and stalker and metro 2033 these
games rocks . also fear 3 is coming near .

about napoleon i dunno if you played Empire total war , but napoleon is like using
Empire editor to make another game , almost same units and maps and game play .
not that Empire is a bad game . but napoleon is like playing Empire all over again .
i dont think they cared about haw much money it will make but instead
just trying to make some more few bucks of Empire Engine .

i played supreme commander 1 but i couldnt see or understand anything . so i stopped playing
after few minutes . maybe i will try supreme commander 2 thanks for the tip hehe

I think the 2 largest games I installed were GTAIV and Turok, being 16GBs and 18GBs respectively. It turned out my computer couldn't handle GTAIV very well so I had to get rid of it, but Turok worked well, despite the slow loading time.

It was decent, I honestly don't remember the gameplay since it has been awhile since I played it. There are really a lot of good games out there that don't get the reviews they deserve, like Dark Void, I ended up playing that one 3x consecutively it was so good.

I'm a console gamer, and TFU is an excellent 360 game. I also look for Star Wars games, and I'm going to be one of the disappointed minority when everyone starts playing the new MMO, as I just wanted another console Knights of the Old Republic game.

May be new games use a lot of disc space, but all games are very short. I need 5 - 10 hours to pass it! it is not interesting for me. (Im talking about actions or shooters)

You should try the Mass Effect or Just Cause series, they have many playable hours.
