How to prevent the image from being stretched?

Hi people, I recently reinstalled Myst IV Revelation. I purchased it long ago when it came out when everyone still had 4:3 monitors. Now when I run the game it stretches and doesnt look right. I have no idea how and where to set the settings in my comptuer to prevent this from happening.

I have Nvidia GTX 250 and a widescreen monitor on Windows Vista.

Any help is appreciated always. Thanks

Before playing, try manually setting your resoluion to a 4:3 setting.
ie. 1024 x 768 or 800 x 600

Thanks, I tried that and the resolution changed however it was stretched to fit the widescreen monitor. I think what I need is either.a way to force it to be in a window, or for some bars to be there on full screen.

Best would be a windowed mode of course. I read somewhere that the properties target text should be changed to add either -window or -w but nothing works.

Thanks

I use my LCD tv for a monitor and can force either a 4:3 or 16 x9 frame. But I don't know if a monitor will have those kind of settings.

I know almost all the CRT monitors had seperate settings - I've got no clue about new monitors. Do you have any buttons on your monitor?

The nVidia site is down till this evening but this may help you till then : Rainbow Six: Vegas - WSGFWiki

It's about how to make sure 4:3 games don't end up 16:10.
