Gaming Laptop
Hello All,
Let me just get it out of the way. I realize that laptops are not ideal for gaming, I understand that a comparable desktop will perform better for a smaller investment. I also know that gaming laptops suffer from heat issues. With all that being said, I'm still in the market for a gaming laptop. I need something with 512MB+ of dedicated video memory. I'm not looking to spend much more than $1000. Does anyone have any recommendations? Anyone have any experience with gaming on machines in that price point? Thanks, |

That's kind of a tough call because gaming desktops that can play newer games start at around $1000 or so. I don't have any recommendations at the $1000 price level.
Which games do you want to play? Some games are less graphics intensive. This one has a 5870 GPU, although it's above your budget. I would have a look at more Asus laptops. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...-695-_-Product Perhaps this one.. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...-700-_-Product

Thanks David, that is actually very helpful. I had saw both of those on Newegg and was thinking that was probably the starter point for a "Gaming" laptop which was a bit concerning since I was hoping to keep it under $1000 and I just don't think it was going to be feasible.
(Some of the sacrifices I have seen have been an 11 inch screen, or if you want a faster processor the video card seems to take a nose dive or is shared memory) Thanks again for your reply! |

you can get a good PC and install separate graphic card by Nvidia or ATi to play graphic intensive games.
