My PC fails on SC2...bad

First post so I'm hoping that I'm within the forum rules...

I have a pretty decent rig, atleast I believe it should be running better on SC2...I get mid game in 3v3, 4v4 or some custom games and my PC I'm getting 3-8 fps

I'm running win7 64 bit
Nvidia 250 gts graphics card (1 gig vram)
AMD 64 x2 dual core processor (2 GHz)
4x Nanya 1 gb DDR ram
Asus a8n32-sli-deluxe motherboard

Side note I have a decent internet connection so I don't think that's leading to my lag problems.. 22mbs download speed/4.5 mbs upload speed

Please help me

I can post a dx diag if it is helpful or any other info that might be needed.

Let me know if theres any specific improvements that would drastically enhance the performance of my computer or simple fixes in the OS/bios would be great to!

thanks in advance...

When the beta first came out the posted specs required/recommended where these : SC2 System Requirements Revealed - StarCraft: Legacy Forums

Currently these are the specs :
PC Requirements
Minimum Requirements
Recommended Requirements

* Windows XP/Windows Vista/Windows 7 (Latest Service Packs) with DirectX 9.0c

* 2.6 GHz Pentium IV or equivalent AMD Athlon processor

* 128 MB PCIe NVIDIA GeForce 6600 GT or ATI Radeon 9800 PRO video card or better

* 1 GB RAM (1.5 for Windows Vista/Windows 7 users)

* Windows Vista/Windows 7

* Dual Core 2.4Ghz Processor

* 2 GB RAM

* 512 MB NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTX or ATI Radeon HD 3870 or better
StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty (video game)

You beat the minimum, no problem there , but your processor seems to catch you between states.
Is it possible that the game is trying to run on one core alone ?
Have you checked?
Have you also updated all your drivers?

how would i be able to determine if the game is running on the cpu power only?

It seems that the processor is closer to the recommended settings than the minimmum specs

i am certain i have the most updated video drivers but unsure about bios and cpu. I just got my 64 bit this weekend upgraded from 32 bit win7

Hold on a second, you mean you did a Custom install of 64bit Win7 and when you reinstalled your programs you made sure that everything, like the drivers for your motherboard, were 64 bit ?

You went to the Asus site and downloaded the 64bit win7 drivers for your motherboard ?
