New mouse and/or HD for games!!

I bought a bunch of Microsoft mouses at a local flea market and cleaned them out. They seem to work fine for word processing or spreadsheets. However I'm not sure I am getting the finesse movements when it comes to games like CS. It could be the video since I am one of those budget gamers on a GF2 MX card. Maybe the monitor. It also could just be that I'm plain not as fast a draw as my opponents. Are those new optical mouses gonna be worth the investment?
Also I currently have a 5400RPM HD. Would 7200 make a difference?
I really hate it when I think I hammered some guy and it turns out he kills me and escapes all damage.

Cool

I consider myself quite a good C-S player, and I love my intellimouse explorer. I think alot has to do with your control setup. If you have a good one, your movements will be much more fluid and controllable than the standard setup. I'm running a Geforce2 GTS BTW... I think the optical has indeed improved my C-S performance, not a great deal however. They are nice to have for non-gaming too...

Check out my clan's server at entropy-spiral.com:27015 (just type that in "add ip". My name is |-uSu-|Orcmonkey

Spend $19.99 for a Logitech Optical Wheel Mouse, great software and without he ball (Uses an LED sensor) you do not need a mouse pad or cleaning to have it work smooth.

I'm very very happy with my optical MS IntelliMouse. It has been with me over a year and a half and has survived all kinds of gaming situations.

And yes, 7200 rpm in a HD really DO make a difference.
