Boom Problems with gaming

My god will someone help me. I've been to too many forums and websites about this and no one has been able to help. Whenever i start up Tony Hawks 2 or Red Alert 2 this message appears

Error:CreateProcess(c:\WINDOWS\TEMP\~ef7194.tmp

The system cannot find the file specified.

Does anyone know what this is??

If anyone can help me please get in touch with me coz its driving me mad

Have you tried the obvious? Reinstalling? Did you check to see if there actually was a file in your temp directory called that? Try running maintenance wizard and removing all your old temp files.

lol, i've tried about 15 re-installs for each game. i've tried a virus scan and yes i have looked into that directory but it doesn't exist. I've also tried creating the tmp folder but that didn't work either. thx for ur reply anyway

It's not right that you don't even have the windows/temp folder there at all.

Maybe instead of reinstalling the games you should reinstall the OS right over top of itself without reformatting. It will just overwrite your Windows folder and any necessary files/folders will be refreshed. Just back up any files,mp3's and game saves but really it does not change any settings and everything should work right as it did before.

Re-install the OS, then motherboard drivers like via 4in1's if you have a via MB, then DX8.1 then your video card drivers.

Try that if nothing else works.

That is pretty strange. I searched for ef7194 but didn't find much at all. Did those games ever work? If they did, do you remember if you did anything different between the time they worked and didn't work? Try just making an empty file name ~ef7194.tmp in c:\windows\temp. That might do something.. If that doesn't work, which it probably won't, try reinstalling windows. Good luck..
