Question best os for gaming

I am currently Running Mac OS And I love it, and don't want to buy anything from the microsoft monoply. I was wondering of there was any platform widly supported that is made for gaming.

Hi 1timebuilder,

Most games are written for Windows, and the best gaming OS is Windows 98SE (in my opinion). If you don't want to use Windows, you'll have to play games on a console, Linux doesn't have much game support.

The most supported platform for gaming is Windows + DirectX.
It will run on Win95, 98, ME as well as 2K and XP, but Win98SE has the best performance on the Win9x series. 2K is a bit slower and XP. . I dunno, haven't tested it yet so intensively.

I run Win2K, and it actually runs some games faster than Win9x/ME. Make sure you install SP2 and DX8.1, though. Stable, fast, and secure (relatively).

I've been running XP for a couple of months and it seems great for gaming, no crashes!!!!!

But microsoft does own a bit of stock in apple, i know it doesn't mean that they own it, but a very good steak in it. omething like that...
