Max FPS in Win2k?

Does anyone know how to raise the fps in win2k or XP? I was running TFC in Win 98se at 85-90 fps but in win2k I only get 60 fps granted the 60 is solid and it never drops below that. I here the same thing from a friend running XP with an Athlon 1.4 Ghz and a GeForce 3.

FPS depends on alot of things.
System, ram, vid card....and video sttings within the game
I use the geforce tweaker, get it at www.guru3d.com
a great little utility.
Good luck.

PS
On my rig:
Asus A7V133

WinXP/Win2k
And the latest drivers.....Your mileage may vary.

Those FPS readings I mentioned above are from the system specs in my sig if that helps which should be ample.

Hi BFD Eyegore,

In general Win2K performs a lot slower than Win98SE in gaming. Check out any video card or game review with benchmarks, you'll see that Win2K is significantly slower. I had the same problem when I ran Win2K too, my 3DMark2001 scores were a lot lower than when I had Win98SE. It's mainly because Win2K is not really a "Home OS" like WinME or WinXP, it's made for stability.

No, I know the problem. When I upgraded my cpu to XP on a Geforce 2 GTS, my Half-Life frames dropped from 100 to 60.0, and stayed there. Do a search online for "Nvidia Refresh Rate Fix" There is a utility that sets it all straight.
