Geforce3 T2 Frame Rates

I am in need of some help regarding my newly purchased video card. I have an Asus Geforce3 T2 installed onto the following system:

PIII 833
256mb PC133
Windows XP
Soundblaster Live
MSI-6303 Lite Motherboard

I am experience severely low frame rates on all games. I orginally had Win2K on the system but upgraded to XP in an attempt to fix the problem. I have installed the latest nvidia drivers (23.11), 4n1(4.35 I belive) and AGP drivers (4.10).

I downloaded FRAPS and during one game I registered an average of 9 frames per second. I have heared from a few people that adding additional ram will help so I have ordered an additional 512mb. Any other insights or help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

Jim E

Cool

Hi, I just upgraded to the GF3 Ti200 and it's fps were VERY disappointing. I'm using the DetonatorXP drivers from nVidia. I finally discovered, using Powerstrip, that it was running at 1x!! Although my bios was set for 4x, the latest VIA 4-in-1 drivers locked into 1x. I beleive they were the 4.35 or 4.36...in any case, I installed the 4.32 drivers off of the cd that came with my mobo and that enabled the 4x.

Now my 3dMark2001 scores are over 6000!

Good Luck,

another tip: my G3 Ti 200 was running quite slow, however, increasing the i/o voltage from 3.3 to 3.5 brought it up to speed

Thank you for all the help. Is there a tool internal to XP that will tell me for sure what agp speed I am running at?

Thanks again,

Jim

Cool

Hey Prew,
How do you adjust your io voltage? I'd like to try that.

Thanks,

In my ABIT KT7 mobo bios setup (Softmenu) there is an adjustment specifically for I/O voltage. Don't know if your mobo bios has a similar setup though, but check to see if there is some type of voltage option in the bios setup.
