Wow, what a nice game, I just picked this up yesterday and started playing, anyone else here addicted yet?

It's so well balanced I think is the thing. This game is approaching MUD-quality combat tactics with a graphical game, which is very cool .

I hear it's good. One guy I work with is totally hooked since his TFC clan switched to DAOC.
I am just not willing to spend the extra $ per month since I am in high ping land

I got and I can say it's SO much more balanced than Evequest. A newbie can level and get new equipment without being twinked or handed tons of money. The money you earn from killing and quests is plenty to survive on.

If anyone sees Gorme or Gishme on Bendevere in Hibernia, or Gabook on Galahad in Midgard...stop by and say hey

Yeah, Leef, that's the thing that got me. If you're a smart player, you CAN do well pretty quickly. I got to level 9 the first day with kill tasks and such, and it's since slowed down but it's perfectly balanced.

I'm playing an Eldritch on Palomeides/Hibernia, if anyone plays there by any chance (same name ).

I also play DAOC, but haven't in some time due to real life issues n' christmas. After the hoildays I'm going to sign up using a cred, but at least I got to enjoy a month of making armor and bashing dwarves.

Cobra, it actually works fine on dialup, you'd be surprised.

I even know AOL'ers that play it. You should give it a try with one of your co-workers' accounts over a modem to check it out.
