Clash between anti-virus and game?

I have installed Microsoft Combat Flight Simulator, and use the MS Force feedback joystick (fab!).

At the same time as setting up the above, I installed McAfee anti-virus V6.0.

When I am in the game, the screen freezes momentarily, and the sound goesa ll jerky. Could there be a clash between the two softwares I have installed? CAn the anti virus interfere with the game?

I run AMD 900 with 512 RAM and 19gb HDD. The video driver is a Savage S4 32 bit.

Many thanks.

My experiance is that McAfee anti-virus will cause a lot of problems with a lot of things. I personally will not touch one of their products. For an AV Norton is still the best.

Uninstal McAfee?

So I guess it's obvious to uninstall the AV and run the game? Don't answer that!.

Thanks for your opinions, anyway.

No need to uninstall. If you just close the program it should not interfere with gameplay. I had this problem with my USB zip and Virus Shield. It would lock up computer entirely. Now, whenever I want to plug in my zip I just disable system scan and no problems yet.

Smile Result!

THAT is a result!

Yes, just right clicking and exiting the AV and the game is smooth as silk!

I love the aerobatics and the graphics are great! No more stuttering aroubd the sky!

Thanks for the help, guys - it is appreciated. I'll pass on what I learn if asked.

Cheers from England.
