The Last Resort!

Okay, here goes,
As a last resort I bow down to the knowledge of the PC Mech formums.
I bought myself a Xmas pressy Op Flashpoint Gold, installed it but as soon as I run it, after 30 seconds or so it crashes back to Windows or worse crashes the whole system.
Does anyone have any ideas on how to get this thing to run, I really want this game to run but will take it back to the shop (and exchange for Castle Wolfstein) if I can't make it go before the day is out.
For info, I have the latest sound, video and mobo drivers installed and Codemasters Tech Support says my OS (Win XP Home) is not supported.
The last line may be a clue but all the other games I play run fine under XP.
Are there any other gamers out there with the same config who can run Op Flash? If so, what am I doing wrong.
Any clues would be appreciated.

Hi heidthebaw,

Check out these two Op Flash forums as they have posts with similar problems:

Forum 1
Forum 2

Hope that helps.

Doc, many thanx for the help. Let's just say there is no easy solution to the problem. I sometimes wonder why we PC gamers will go to so much trouble to get a game to run on our system, I mean my daughter puts a CD into her Dreamcast, plugs it into the TV and whammo, off she goes and plays for hours.
Meanwhile daddy is on the internet, phoning Tech Support and generally being Mr Grumpy about the house because he can't get a severely patched game he paid £30 for to work on a system that thirty years ago would have been powerful enough to send Neil Armstrong to the Moon!
Rant over, spleen diminished.
All the best to you and yours over the festive season.

Maybe your "crappy sound card" is to blame. Might be a wonderful excuse to upgrade (now you're on the gaming roller coaster!)
