Problems with my nvidia vanta card

I recently bought an nvidia vanta card because it is the only one I could find to fit into my low profile case. I have been playing a few online games that require atleast a 16mb video card which my vanta is but they were also playable with intel intergrated graphics pathetic little 4mb I think it is. granted it was slow and bad fps, around seven. Now that I have the vanta I get about 30 to 40 frames per second for the first ten minutes and then it drops to below 2 like clockwork every single time. with the intel intergrated graphics I was atleast getting a constant seven fps which is better then two. I was wondering if anyone knows what could be causing this and if thier is a way to fix it?

Well first off the Vanta is not a very good card. Sure, it may fit into your case good but there are much better picks out there for a little more or even less. And what do you mean by low profile case? Most video cards should be able to fit. If you want a good card go with the plain old GeForce 2, or the GeForce 2 MX in either 32mb or 64mb versions. I don't know about you but playing with a 16mb card is a little old fashion I should say. Not to brag or anything but when I play online games such as counter-strike, I get constant 99.9fps (the max the HL engine will allow) and the gameplay is very smooth. I couldn't imaging playing with 30fps...it would be to choppy for me, especially when you ping is anywhere from 140-340 on my 56k modem.

By low profile I mean the case only accepts half height expansion cards. The Vanta is the only card that I could fine that is half height. And it only comes in 16mb, no higher.

About the only thing a Vanta is good for is an Office type computer. I would think that you could use a ATI XPERT 2000 PRO 32MB 4X AGP in this computer as it is a really slim card, plus you get hardware DVD decoding.
