Well, retired the Voodoo finally :(

Still keeping the trusty Voodoo5 for sentimental reasons , but I went with a Radeon as of today due to issues with DAoC. Lost about 10-15 frames in UT, but I'm still right at 100 and the image quality is much better so I'll live.

Guess I need a new title here, tho. Maybe we should have some sort of contest for it .

Frame your Voodoo and hang it up above your monitor. I still have my dually Voodoo2's with my 8Mb AIW Pro in my second machine. When prices come down on the AIW 8500, they too will get retired and graduate to the AIW Radeon that's currently in this machine.

My friend is (was) a big 3dfx fan too, he's still running a VooDoo 3 and he has a couple VooDoo2 SLI cards lying around. He always adds "R.I.P. 3dfx" to his message sig.

A sad day. Enough to make a grown man weep. It's like a gunslinger, hanging up
up his guns.

Tomorrow I will use my SLI Voodoo 2's in UT as a mark of respect.

Hehe, trust me, my rifle still swings just as low , just that its no longer rendered by trusty 3dfx.

(Don't alias as other people on public games, see what happens when someone gets a new mouse and a new vid card to try out on you, eh?)

Hey if you had $2000 lying around you could have bought a 3dfx voodoo5 6000 card. There were apparently a few engineering samples made and one just sold on Ebay.

Check it out here:

I actually had a the original Voodoo (well my dad did) in a very old computer, I don't even remember it.

It went into the computer recycling center along with all of all my other crap...
