Question about games cinematics

Well, this will seem like a strange question, but is it me or the colours in Starcraft cinematics are not good? I've just reinstalled this game (which is, by the way, one of my favourite ) and the intro movie seems choppy. Now maybe its my vid card, but I doubt so, since cinematics from relatively newer games (like Star Trek Armada) run fine. Any ideas? I played a bit with the settings of my vid card, but it didn't make any difference.

The simple answer to that question is probably that I remembered Starcraft movies to be better looking that they actually are... Anyway, just curious.
