On-board question??
Hi Guys,
i plan to buy mobo with on-board features such as LAN, Video and AUDIO. If i wish to buy cards for video, lan and audio and install on the mobo, will it work? thanks for your input.

You can almost always disable the onboard stuff. Just make sure that there are enough pci slots availiable for your intended expansion.

I don't recommend you to by a mobo with on-board stuff, its performance will be lower than a usual mobo

You can also end up with chronic errors if the machine continues to search for the disabled hardware.

I'd advise against integrated boards. They've proven too troublesome.
Integrated peripherals drag the machine because they put more load on the CPU than a system with independant cards. Plus they're not too good for future upgrades since they usually have no AGP slot and only two or three PCI slots.
