Many people continue to say that PS2 is the best available. They only say this because "it has so many games". What do u expect when a system has been out for a year and a half. XBox clearly has the hardware advantage over all consoles. By Christmas 2002 there are 94 games scheduled to be released. Give XBox a year and a half and see how it ranks with the lowly PS2. My vote clearly goes to XBox. I'm not even going to talk about Gamecube. I'll let my 5 year old nephew do that. After all, all the games are for his age group.

My vote was for the PC, still the most versatile system. And no, GameCube is not just for "little kids," it has (and will have) games just as good as XBox and PS2.

I was visiting my cousin (6 yrs old) over chirstmas and had a blast with the Gamecube! Games like luigis mansion, Smash Brothers, Super Monkey ball etc... may not be the most sophisticated, but sure are a lot of fun!

yeah gamecube is not for kids anymore. Nintendo used to marke to the wiht pokemon, but now they are getting more mature. Like thewhole resident evil series from capcom i think is on the gamecube exclusively. And tha game is by far no kid game. As for ps2, and gamecube we will have to wait and see who can shell out better games at a faster rate. Many of the loyal ps2 fans wont switch over because of mgs2 thps3 ff series, and squaresoft. Some will stay loyal, but some will go due to superior hardware.

console systems suck.

You can't upgrade them like a PC, and you can't do like 90% of what a PC can do...so what's the point?

If I really, really had to pick a console system, it would have to be PS2. Xbox costs too damn much.

I voted PS 2 simply because I still have over 60 PS titles and want to be able to play them on my new console. My old modded Playstation was having a bit of trouble reading some of my games.

And truth be told, I've seen the XBox and the PS2 set up for demo play at Walmart first hand and danged if I can see much difference between the two systems' graphics. XBox is supposed to be so much better, but I don't see it.

I can't wait to try FFX... someone who has it... how is it?

ok, i have both xbox, ad ps2. First of all pcs cost alot more than consoles do. The value is good for consoles. They are fast and stable, and suited for gaming. I like the games alot better on console then on pc. Think about it gforce 3 in xbox normally costs around 300 right? Well you get the whole thing for 300. And xbox cost 300 and so does ps2.

Cool Ok all you silly fools:)

X-Box is WAY KOOL! It is more of a computer then ps2. No choppy graphics, better graphics..oh yeah, X-Box looks a hell lot like PC. PS2 has to go for a long time till they get better graphics. X-Box is expensive because of two reason : A. its new and its from Microsoft...... B. ITS GOOD! THANK YOU MICROSOFT!

ugh.. mature games

ok in my opinion is that gamecube is the best gaming platform.. if not the best selling.. simply put.. the best games
many of the other arguments claim that nintendo has "kiddie" look
but strangely enough... little kids and adults with the same mentality as little kids all want to play really bloody, violent, mature(or immature) games because they think it makes them cool

personally, the gameplay for all RE games, sucked.. they were horrible
now, get four friends, get together and start playing super smash brothers (origional or melee, either are good).. play for a little while and tell me you are not having fun
now.. then rent pikmin(trust me)
drop all the kiddie=bad ideals... and play the game for a while.. and tell me you are not having fun

simply put.. gamecube has FUN GAMES.. halo... .is going to be like perfect dark, which i absolutely HATED IT!!!
the storyline was shallow, the framerate gave be brain cancer and multiplayer was fun for a total of 10 mintues..(ok 15.... i loved chasing my slow witted friend with a guided rocket)

anyway... if i hadnt found out that ff11 might come out for gamecube.. i would say that pc is close to a tie with gamecube, becaue DAoC ownz me

PC all the way. You gotta get me drunk to make me buy a console. PC is the most versatile entertainment system in the world.

my vote does to ps2...because it had many games that a pc don't have...why does the company that developed consoles games didn't share a thought to someone who used a pc??????????

It's easier to design games for a console then for the PC. In a console the programmers know the platform and are sure that if the game will work in all consoles of the same type, because they are manufactured identical. But in the PC realm, no PC is equal, and the programmers have to spend a lot more time testing and assuring that their game will fit in a very broad range of configurations. That's the reason why the consoles have more games available than the PC.

I think and hope the PS2 pulls ahead, Microsoft needs to fix Windows before makeing a console. How reliable is an X-Box? Besides, Bill Gates is makeing plenty of money, and I don't think there is that much difference between X-Box and PS2(as far as graphics). Graphics are limited by the TV-screen, and is more effected by the software. I also have a strong desire to keep my old PS games.

well firstof all, ps2 costs the same as xbox does. 300 bucks. Also these are consoles, not pcs, they are made for gaming, so what if hey dont have upgrading? And when you said pcs are more advanced, well yeah, but who cares, when you cant get nearly as many goo games for it. My computer still doesnt look anything like ps2, or xbox yet.

ok first of all, look at the back of xbox, theres the av cable, power, and ethernet. sony ps2 has more comptuer ports than xbox does, and it will have a hd, and ethernet adapter.

Also, you said xbox looks way better than ps2. I hooked my xbox up to my tv with hdtv, nd then my ps2 (which doesnt support that) and to tell you the truth, I couldnt tell the difference in grpahics between gt3, and project gotham. And gt3 came out in july. Ok and lastly, where are the games at. I know, I know ps2 has been out longer, but I though Micro$ofts rich @$$ could have bought some decent 3rd party developers by now. take 2 is the only big one.

ahhhh nuts

ah it seems that the deanboy is once again waaaay outspoken in my love of the gamecube... oh well i can sit at home with mine playing it.
personally, all the consoles have their weak points and strong points.. i predict that all consoles (3rd party wise and technologically) will be the same.. its the first party games that i think makes the gamecube the best
but i am obviously outspoken by most of the xbox and ps2 supporters here
anyway, about xbox patching games..no.. that wont work.
the games still run off of the cd, so you would have to patch the game every time you play it, and eventually the patches would get bigger and bigger , increasing load time
besides, console games werent meant to be like pc games, they are way different
i have my counter-strike and dark age of camelot, and i have my super smash brothers and rouge leader... different styles of gaming for different moods.. thats what console games are about

(please someone back me up on this)

well, Ilike gamecube, but since Im short on money, I ha to make a choice, whichwould be better int he long run, and which one I knew had cool games. Gamecube is pretty nice (biased cause I like ATI) when eathbound mother 3 comes out for it, Im onna get it.

I don't want to see more Pokemon, and Mr. Gates already has too much money for his cheap Windoze softare. That is IMOHO the biggest flaw of Win2K, and the X-Box is based off the Win2K kernel(hmm?). 700MHz Pentium 3 and a better than what we can get GeForce3 yet it still is just barely ahead of a 300MHz Toshiba powers PS2? I think there is something wrong... Bill didn't know what he was doing with the reallease of the X-Box. The Win2K(aka: X-Box) Kernel isn't design for the setup it is in, neither is the Pentium 3 CPU.

So, the only honorable choice is PS2. Besides, what happens when graphics exceed the human eye? Nothing! We cant even tell it happened. In a fast passed action game I dought your going to hit pause right while you beating some guy up just to say: "hmm, that cylinder over there needs one more side to look more round...?"
