Kyro II Chipset....Opinions?
I just purchaed a Hercules Prophet 4000xt with the Kyro 1 chipset and I absolutely love it! I'm not much of a gamer, but the price was so low ($59) I thought I'd give it a try. The 2d and rich vivid colors are just blowing me way. It's better than my Matrox G-400 and Ati cards! My games run fine too! After reading about Kyro's innovative approach to texture filling, etc, I'm tempted to step up to the Kyro II. Is it worth it, or for my application should I just be satisfied with what I have in the Kyro 1: 32mb's sdram at 115 clock speed or would the Kyro 2 make a noticeable difference just in case I get bit by the gaming bug: 64mb's sdram at 175mhz. TIA!

i used them both and i definitely liked the 4500 better with the 64 megs of memory... the 32 meg card seemed to chug a little when playing games where as the 4500 played games smooth as glass...
(i wish i had kept my 4500)....they are hard to find where i like now.. |
