Unreal Tournament 2
go over to gamespot. I was just looking at some new screenshots, and the "proxy server" at work knocked me out of the site. Anything that has "game" in the url does not last for more than one minute, oh well. I have to say, by the looks, WOW. The graphics look too good, like an anime or cartoon...
If the demo looks half that good, well, I will just have to buy the game. Check it out.

Yeah, I read the article in the newest PCGamer magazine, it looks very impressive... I can't wait to get my hands on it

the unreal series is the best!
UT2 will be the next standard in first-person multiplayer deathmatching. The game will have the best graphics and features. Unreal2 will be the next chapter in the Unreal storyline. If its anything like Unreal1(which was awesome), it will blow everything else out of the water. An added plus is UT2 is scheduled for this summer! That's not too far away!

I agree,
I still think the original unreal was/is the best game ever created. I played for months straight, and still never got to the end. ![]() I am anxious for a part 2. |

Unreal 1 is the best game ever made, IMHO
That was the game that really introduced me to internet multiplayer. I played everday online(even though I had a 56k modem), downloaded many new levels/skins for the game, and loved the wonderful graphics and lush enviroments. I made a living at coming home, downloading a new unreal map(full of eyecandy), playing on it against as many bots as the map could hold, and then hoping online and owning most of the ppl i fought(again amazing for only having a 56k modem). Every level told a story, every level was a novel, every level, for lack of a better word, RULED! I am saving up right now for the my next system just so i can play Unreal 2 with graphics at their max! Oh, by the way, whats with this Unreal Warfare stuff? First I thought it was the engine that ran the game, now the article makes it sound like its a game that won't be out for at least 2 years. Maybe a game containing both aspects of Unreal 2 and UT 2! That would be sweet because by that time the graphics would be so good it would be like looking at real life! well at least close to it! |

Hope the new game runs more efficiently than the first UT. Has anyone gotten over 100 FPS with everything turned on high? I'm lucky to get 65 with a Tbird 800 and a G3. But like the others, I can't wait.

Yep,
Unreal was a completely mindblowing experience. Great story, great levels and great musical soundtrack. Looks like Epic is going to give id a run for their money by releasing Uunreal 2 and UT2 at about the same time. However, I hope both companies do well as it's good for gaming. |

The D3D renderer for UT was rather archaic. I get over 100 frames with my Radeon VIVO now, after many tweaks, but not much higher. In Glide with a V5 I got about 150-175 frames with DX 8.1
UT was innovative with the amount of player movement possible. The flips and dodges and what not made it revolutionary, and truly a game of skill rather than a contest of framerate and ping. The drawback was the weapons were a bit spammy, which has been complained about in the competitive community for quite some time. Luckily they seem to be finally listening to us, with Devs popping up on the forums of the more notable clans out there to ask for input. The big debate now is whether they make a competitive game or whether they appease the "newbies" for lack of a better word out there. Alot of debates going on in the Infogrames forums right now as to what's gonna stay from UT and what's gonna be out. Hopefully, reason prevails and it doesn't fall prey to the failures that Tribes 2 did. |
