Diablo

What graphics board should I get an nVidia or ATI. I plan on getting into diablo II and currently have an AGP ATI 16mb rage 128 with S-vid.

It depends what your price range is. I got a 32 meg nvidia g2 for 50 dollars..works really great. You could get a geforce 3 64 meg for about 115 if you want. It all depends... most graphics cards will work with your hardware since it's a standard AGP bus

This also depends on your CPU and RAM, Faster CPU means that you need a faster graphics card to get all the power of your CPU.

Really doesn't matter with DII. This is not a graphics intensive game like Wolfenstein or some of the other newer ones. The graphics in DII are known for their outdatedness and relatively poor quality (the high quality pictures you see in advertisements are not actual screen shots). This is not to say that the game isn't fun-- it just doesn't take a high end computer to run it.

I agree 100%, I played D2 with a voodoo 2 card and I had no problems at all, but if he is going to upgrade his graphics card, he should buy the proper one for his machine.

That also proves true with Max Payne. Fun but quick game.

If you wanna know what a quick game is, play HL: Blue Shift.

The reason it worked well with a VooDoo card is that D2 runs best under Glide, I had much better frame rates with my Banshee than with my GeForce.
