Hi, I'm from Australia and wondering what video card i should purchase. I currently have a Voodoo3 3000. I find that the voodoo is getting a bit old in the tooth and not getting me the FPS I want.
I will spend up to maybe $250AUS on a new card. Friends have said only to buy an ASUS card. Is this card good for the price? ASUS AGP-V7100Pro SE 64Mb GeForce2 MX 400 Internet Price : $196.00 - Retail Price : 206.00 http://umart.com.au/phtml/products_l...10&id2=6&bid=2 or would you recommend a different card from that list? |

I would get a Geforce 3 based card because it will handle the newer
games coming out with programmable shading and other neat effects. The Geforce 3's also do alot of onboard processing so it doesnt use up Cpu cycles as much. I am pleased with my Geforce 3 and like havent had any problems with it. I just picked up Medal Of Honor and set the video settings to the Highest quality and it handles it without a hitch. Theres a link below with some info on the new cards. http://www.sharkeyextreme.com/hardwa...ards/index.php |

I bought a Leadtek Geforce3 ti200 for $130 US including shipping.
That price your quoting seems high. Leadtek has alot of bang for the buck. |
