video card driver - MS or Nividia

hi everybody, i have a GF2 MX400 with the microsoft driver, and i have the monitor at max resolution, so i dl the driver from nividia, now the MS driver was working fine and really clear on the display, the nividia driver worked fine too but a little blurry, not as clear as the MS driver, so i rolled back to the MS driver and its alot better. now my question ( its a stupid one but want to make sure ) is when i rolled back the driver it is the previous one ? and which one do most of u guys use ? the manufacters driver or the chipset driver or the MS drivers ? and if u do use the drivers other than the MS ones is it more clear ? is it better ? how ? am i missing somthing here ?

I have the same card and I have used both drivers: first the NVidia, and now recently the updated driver from MS. I couldn't tell any difference. I go with the most current driver, but I don't know of any problem with using the MS driver.

I use the chipset drivers. For nVidia I always get the latest ones. Currently the latest is the Detonator 27.42s for both 2k/XP and 9x/ME. You can find that here: http://gamershq.madonion.com/news/?n...202/2002020802 Only last week the latest was the 27.20s which I have. I think I will be downloading the 27.42s right now.

As for the bluriness, I'm not sure, but try getting the latest drivers from that link. Make sure you uninstall the previous drivers first.

so u mean i have to uninstall the previous driver first ? i thought when u dl the new driver it automatically backs up the old driver and then u can roll it back if u need, and thats it...finished ? so if i had to uninstall the old driver thats means i had both drivers in and hence the bluriness ?

If you roll back to the MS drivers it is also a good idea to remove the Nvidia drivers from add/remove programs. I also run a reg cleaner to remove any reference to the detonators as well.

I personally find the detonators work best for me & give me a lot higher fps.
