It's the graphics card. Everything else in that system is top notch, but the card is a little behind the times. I personally like Nvidia based cards better than ATI, but others feel the oposite.

I agree with Orcmonkey, get a GForce 2/3 card if you want to play high end games

Make sure your video drivers and you motherboard drivers are up to date. I had this problem in win2k and the new drivers made the games (Medal of Honor etc) run smoothly.

The main part of your PC is just fine, which means it must be your video card. By all means try updating the drivers...but if that fails, I would get a better video card. What game are you playing?

I have to agree with the majority here, it's the graphics card. Anything less than a Radeon 7500 is sub-par and will run into problems. My reccomendation is to go for either GeForce2 MX400 if your on a tight budget, if you have more to spend, but not much, go for either the GeForce3TI200 or the Radeon 8500, and if you can afford it, go for the GeForce3TI500.

I would agree with the GeForce II! That will certainly kick some.

Im mainly playing Return to castle wolfenstein and im grateful for all the reply's I got back I'm going to go get a GE-FORCE 3 Ti 200.
One last Question. Does it matter if i mix SDRAM memory with Video card memory that is DDR. Again thank you for all the reply's

The memory on your video card has nothing to do with your system's memory, so getting a vid card with DDR memory will not screw anything up if your system's memory is SDRAM.

When I was running XP I installed my geforce 2 MX 200 and I let it use the drivers built into windows and tryed a game out it was choppy woppy smoppy so I installed XP Detornator drivers and it was smooth as so if you upgrade your drivers it should fix it does the choppyness seem different than jerkyness Like i noticed when running a game that was too good for the system whenever the grafics chopped the sound did too but with the driver choppyness it was just the video that chopped
