Do a search for Fraps.
The utility gives You the ability to monitor framerate in game and has the workaround for open gl in xp probs. I think you will find it in Tweak3d or some such. It has a better description of the exact problem we are dealing with than I can give. |

Open GL problem?
Hello
I read you r post with interest. I have a S3 Savage S4 and it too returns with the error message about the 'sub system'. I was thinking about upgrading the card to Nvidia/blah blah/somehintg 64mb etc card... Whats was the 'fraps' that was mentioned? Thanks, Tim, UK. |

Hi Tim,
I have a weird prob that wasnt resolved by fraps or any of the usual fixes for nvidiot cards, such as using 2x instead of 4x agp and not usieng fastwrites or even aggresive memmory settings, all to no avail. I am wondering why my game play was far better under ME as opposed to the XP os I am running now. I have determined to resume the use of ME. As far as fraps goes, its a nice prog for finding out what your frame rate is and has a tweak for XP's open gl probs, even tho it did nothing for me. Cheers Chris |

Frap?
Hello Chris
I don't even know what 'frap' is... ! But I was looking for help with running some games (esp MOHAA). I am considering buying an agp card other than S3 Savage 4 to run the games. I guess the difference (from what I can can see) is that the card I have in mind getting, (uh, Ge Force?) might do away with my problem. I'll get around to posting my system spec sometime! Ta Tim |

DO a search for FRAPS and for GTU (geforce tweak utility) as they are both rather nice. If I was in your shoes, Id get a gf3ti or an ATI8500 class card and be happy. I am preferential to nvidiot cards but dont know why.
Cheers! |
