Hi
This sounds like a VIA chipset problem. Is the mobo in question a VIA by chance?
You may find some ideas on eliminateing the problem on some of the VIA web sites, such as Via Arena Forum and others. There are patches and bios settings to play with to get rid of the audio problem.
Good luck.

What's 'mobo'?

Hi, can you tell me what 'mobo' is? I've seen it in a reply to one of my posts regarding the AGP slot. I was asking in the context of the 2x/4x. Thanks.

mobo is short for motherboard. It helps us old guys type quicker and not strain our fingers...ouch! Typing that "motherboard" was a killer.

Talking

Seems I read somewhere that dma had to be checked for your harddrive and that it seemed to help this problem. You can see if you have it checked in device manager-disk drives-properties-settings. Worth a try!!
